Errors in (Neuro) Radiology
Radiological errors can be grouped into perceptual and cognitive (or interpretive). In perceptual errors a finding is not recognized, possibly causing incorrect, delayed or altogether missed diagnoses; the majority of medico-legal claims originate from these kinds of error. On the other hand, cognitive errors involve a radiological sign being recognized but incorrectly interpreted.
In this webinar, we looked at the major categories of errors occurring in the everyday practice of neuroradiology and addressed practical solutions or tips to avoid them; also, we briefly discussed the main types of cognitive bias causing errors in the everyday neuroradiological practice.
