Adult Acquired Flatfoot Deformity
Adult acquired flatfoot deformity is a common, painful condition initiated by degeneration of the posterior tibialis tendon, initiating a cascade of tissue failure resulting in midfoot collapse and heel valgus. Imaging plays an important role in evaluating the soft tissue damage associated with disorder to help guide surgical management. This lecture reviewed the normal anatomy of the medial supporting structures, illustrated expected patterns of failure with MR imaging, and discussed surgical staging and management.
