Description

During this three day fellowship participants will review clinical and technical considerations of MR Neurography (MRN); MRN of the upper extremity; MRN of the lower extremity; MRN of the brachial plexus; MRN of the lumbosacral (LS) plexus; and recognition of the 16 key diagnostic signs on MRN.

Learners will be able to grade nerve injuries and prognosticate patients with nerve injuries, nerve entrapments, and peripheral nerve tumors and tumor-like conditions using a standardized scoring system- NS-RADS. Finally, WBMRI, WBMRN and routine image-guided nerve interventions will be discussed.

Unilabs Academy online radiology courses are held in a virtual classroom environment on Zoom. Participants are encouraged to engage in discussions making use of their camera and microphone in order to recreate the face-to-face experience.

In this small group environment among your peers, you are free to ask questions, make mistakes, and learn together with the support of Dr. Chhabra. Online sessions are recorded so you can review them on your own time following the training.

Please note that this online fellowship does not include DICOM cases, unlike standard Academy fellowships.

This course is organised by Unilabs Academy, an EACCME Trusted Provider.

Learning Objectives
  • Learn the clinical patterns of peripheral neuropathy.
  • Gain knowledge of technical considerations for optimal performance of MRN and WBMRN
  • Recognize neuromuscular anatomic variations and imaging pitfalls.
  • Acquire knowledge of imaging signs of neuropathy and plexopathy and how to distinguish plexopathy from clinically confounding entities, such as radiculopathy and mononeuropathy.
  • Distinguish different classes of nerve injuries as referenced to Sunderland classification system.
  • Recognize key imaging features of the spectrum of nerve tumors and post-op evaluation.
  • Learn NS-RADS scoring system.
  • Learn image-guided interventions of various peripheral neuropathies.
Programme will include
  • 10 lectures over 3 days
  • 3 Case discussions
  • Plenty of time for Q&A with the radiologist mentor
  • Access to presentation slides, session recordings, and other course materials
  • Individual case reading and interpretation on provided cases
  • Group case discussion of the selected cases
  • Your own personal dashboard and course materials on Unilabs Academy online platform

Dr Chhabra’s clinical expertise and his interests include magnetic resonance neurography (MRN), sports imaging, rheumatology and sarcoma imaging, and related image-guided interventions. Dr. Chhabra actively runs a patient care clinic at UT Southwestern Medical center and translates his research into clinical practices by deploying novel MRN techniques to map peripheral neuropathy in patients preparing for surgery, and to direct perineural nerve injections in patients with neuropathies. Dr. Chhabra serves as a committee member on national and international societies. Dr. Chhabra is frequently invited to lecture nationally and internationally at conferences, webinars, and venues throughout the United States and around the world, including presenting the keynote addresses to the American Roentgen Ray Society, Radiological Society of North America, Ontario association of Radiologists, Chinese, Korean, South American and Gulf MSK societies, and the Tummala Madhusudana Rao Endowment Oration to the Asian Musculoskeletal Society.
