Dr. Vargas completed his medical training in his native Caracas, Venezuela, followed by Radiology residency in Cambridge, UK. He then completed fellowships in Oncologic Imaging and Nuclear Medicine in Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in New York, where he stayed on as faculty rising through the ranks of instructor, assistant, associate and full Professor and serving as Director of genitourinary radiology and Chief of the Body Imaging Service. For the last 3 years, he has been Professor and Vice Chair of the Department of Radiology at New York University.
