Dr. Garcia Figueiras has focused his work on Oncology Imaging and functional and molecular imaging techniques and their application to different tumour types (colorectal, renal, prostate and pancreatic cancer) and oncological therapies (immunotherapy and target therapies). Doctoral thesis (Cum Laude and extraordinary award)
Multiple papers in national and international congresses, 16 book chapters and 75 published articles devoted primarily to Oncology Imaging. He has obtained 21 awards from different scientific societies, including RSNA, ECR, ESGAR, ESUR, ESTI, SERAM or SGR. He is a speaker at the main radiological congresses (RSNA, ECR, ESGAR, ESUR, SERAM, SEDIA, SEICAT) and in multiple radiological courses and medical specialties dedicated to the oncological field.
He is currently the head of the Radiodiagnosis service at the Hospital Clínico Universitario de Santiago de Compostela since 2016.
