Description
Dynamic susceptibility contrast acquisition, signal-time curves, cerebral blood volume calculation, and leakage effects establish the technical basis. Perfusion is applied to tumour diagnosis and grading, glioma transformation, and treatment effect versus recurrence before arterial spin labelling is introduced for perfusion, shunts, and stenosis.
Learning Objectives
- Perform and interpret DSC perfusion using signal-time curves and cerebral blood volume maps.
- Recognise leakage and other pitfalls that affect perfusion measurements.
- Apply DSC and ASL findings to brain tumours, treatment response, and neurovascular disease.
- Use arterial spin labelling to assess perfusion abnormalities, shunts, and vascular stenosis.
