Urgent thoracic conditions include acute aortic syndromes, aneurysm, pulmonary arterial emergencies, pericardial disease, myocardial infarction complications, pulmonary oedema, infection, and haemorrhage. Pneumomediastinum and oesophageal perforation complete the review, with emphasis on findings that require prompt recognition.
