Oesophageal anatomy and histology establish the context for endoscopic and imaging assessment of tumour extent. T staging, nodal evaluation, CT and PET-CT, common complications, difficult cases, and the contribution of diagnostic findings to therapeutic and interventional planning are reviewed.

He also works closely with the BSIR and British Institute of Radiology.
